Portfolio Manager, Washington
Emma Uman is a portfolio manager for Washington state, directing investments that address barriers to economic mobility for youth and families. Previously, Emma was a senior program manager with the Aspen Institute Forum for Community Solutions, where she focused on developing and scaling career pathways for opportunity youth. Prior to joining the Aspen Institute, Emma was policy director at MBSquared Solutions, a policy and strategy firm co-founded by Melody Barnes. Earlier in her career, Emma interned with the House of Representatives in the Office of Congressman John Lewis and served as a Teach For America Corps Member in San Jose, California. Emma holds a bachelor’s degree from the Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy at the University of Michigan, and she lives in her hometown of Seattle, Washington.
