Ballmer Group to focus giving on children and families in the U.S.

In one of the first articles to lay out our focus on breaking the cycle of poverty in the United States, Business Insider discusses why we aim to make the American dream available to American kids who are shut out of it today.

The article cites one of our grants to support a community policing project at Harvard Park, a rough neighborhood in south Los Angeles. The grant enables a police officer to be embedded in the community to build trust by doing social work, so that if tensions in the neighborhood arise, people can turn to someone they know.
